Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. – 1 Corinthians 13:12

This time of year brings me much joy and much frustration. There is joy because we have those days where the sun is out and the temperatures rise. It is great to get out and not have to wear a heavy coat. This time of year is frustrating, because just as soon as we have a nice day or two, the weather changes and we are back to winter. It is like spring is playing games with us. That glimpse of spring is joyful because we know what is coming; it is also frustrating because we are reminded of what we do not yet have.

As I enjoy the warms day I am reminded of the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:12. Paul reminds us that while we have glimpses of God we do not see Him fully. Only when we leave this life and enter eternity will we truly see and know God. Sometimes it is frustrating when we want to know more about God and His plan for our lives; a moment when God seems far and you long for those times when He felt close, or a time you desperately need to know His plan for your life and your prayers are answered with silence.

When we have those moments, those times when God feels distant and we long to be close to Him, remember the words of Paul. Right now can’t understand all that God is doing. Even if God were to tell us all about Himself and His perfect plan for our lives, we would not be able to comprehend it. What we can know, is that regardless of what we feel God is with us, working in our lives. So take peace knowing that God will always do what is best for you. Additionally we can hope knowing that one day we will stand before our Heavenly Father and we will understand Him and all He did in our lives.

Enjoy the moments when you feel close to God and remember the hope of heaven when we understand God’s work in our lives. God bless and we will see you on Sunday.
